Hua Hin, Thailand

I was in Thailand for 3 whole weeks so I've got a lot to write about so if you've noticed so many Thailand posts recently that is why! I'm trying to spread them out with other topics too so I hope you enjoy reading them!

Thailand is a totally whole new world compared the UK, as in EVERYTHING is different. I find the people are much nicer and politer as everyone will say hello and smile. The main thing I loved about vising Hua Hin was seeing how people lived and how different life was there than to the UK. Everything looks so different, the roads, the rules and just life. The restraunts are totally different to the UK's as most of them don't have 4 walls and you're just eating on the street, outside or on the beach which I really didn't mind because it was so warm!

A big MUST DO when you visit Thailand is take a ride on the Tuk Tuk's! I didn't manage to get a photo of a Tuk Tuk but in the photos above that is a photo taken whilst we were in one. It can be pretty scary the first few times but you get used to it and we promised the girls we would take them on our last day and they loved it. We even bought them some Tuk Tuk toys, which they haven't really looked at since coming home but they do talk about it often.

What I found interesting was how thick and messy looking the cables were! The cables were ALL over the place and one time we saw loads of cables hanging down at an entrance of a car park and it was there for a good few days because we passed it a few times! They just don't see the danger like what we do that's one way Thailand is so different from us.

Another thing I noticed with our visit to Thailand was they absoloutley adore and respect their King which is nice too see. There was so many photos of the King along the roads, bridges, side roads and even in shops and restraunts.
The sad thing too see was the Thai people either have a lot of money or they have hardly none at all and you can see that with the way people live. They either live in nice houses or basically shacks//sheds on the side of the road which was shocking but interesting to see. I remember passing one shack one day and the door was open so I had quick look as I was going past in the car and I just wondered how do they live like that? But I guess they are just so used to it.
I was pretty shocked on how many scooters/motorbikes there are on the roads, even though there was a lot of cars but the majority of them were motorbikes/scooters on the road. We hired a motorbike and it was the first time i'd ever gone on a motorbike, it was quite scary especially on the roads there because half of the Thai's don't quite understand how to use a road, but they could say that about us too! However, they certainty don't understand how to use a round about so that was always pretty scary to go around.

Thai people will visit places like this and leave flowers, bottles of water, food or anything they would like to give to their 'God'. There are so many places like this in Thailand, even in peoples gardens. It's a place of respect for them.

  1. Very interesting... what a great experience. I too have been on vacations where I have noticed a big gap in living conditions and incomes of the locals- it always captures my attention as well. xoxo - Kristi www.mustbeamomblog.com

  2. Wow, what an experience. I would love to go to Thailand. It's sad to see the real run down places where they live in shacks, it really is a rich or nothing country. Fab photos here and the whole thing would be so useful for anyone heading that way! #mummymonday

  8. I always find it interesting living here to read other people's take on Thailand. Some of the things I don't even notice anymore- like ducking under loose wires or the mad traffic. I do notice how much more relaxing it is to drive when i go back to the UK though. Were you here during April? You must have been melting!
Thanks so much for linking up with #fartglitter x
