BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

I love Bank Holiday Weekends! An excuse to be lazy and have lie in's. The last Bank Holiday my partner had to work but this time he took time off work so it was really nice to spend an extra day of the weekend as a family. He still went to work on taxi's on Saturday and Sunday night until 4am but at least we spent time together in the day.

Mia went to her Dads after school on Friday so we had a chilled out evening. Saturday morning we dropped Elliw off to my partners parents and we both had a day together. We went to Asda in Queensferry and then to Ikea in Warrington. We bought a few things for the house as we're trying to get this house sorted before Christmas! We will get there one day. There is a post to follow on what we bought. On our way back we stopped at Brewers Fare for some food. It felt really weird going out for food and shopping just the two of us and having no one interrupting us when we talk or having to tell one of the kids off for trying to get things down off the shelf. Oh and don't forget the countless trips to the toilet too.

On our way back home we decided to pick Mia up from her Dad's, spare him taking her home later and having to wait for us. Then we picked Elliw up too. My partner went to work not long after we arrived home and I got the kids sorted and put Elliw to bed. I decided to have a cosy night in with Mia for a change. We watched half of the Annie film! I then put Britain's Got Talent on instead as I found the film quite boring and not as good as the original.

On Sunday we all just went for a Food Shop. Monday was a day we all really enjoyed. We went to visit my grandparents and Gareth my uncle was there too. My Taid had bought the girls new Hula Hoops and they went straight out to play with them. In the end we all sat out and my Nain had give us some Welsh cakes. Mia was a bit too hyper but well behaved. She enjoyed showing off her hand stands and getting Gareth to hold her legs up once she did a handstand. In the last hour before we went my Taid showed me some of his old diaries which I found very interesting. One of his diaries went back to 1977! I hope one day I can sit down and just have a read with him, it would be really interesting to know more. I also read some of my Dad's old school reports and it was so weird reading them as I was exactly like him in school.

  11. Aw such lovely photos of your bank holiday- you look like you have a lovely, close family. I would love to read some of my parents old school reports, or even my own for that matter- my mum kept them for years but then moved house and sadly I don't think she has them anymore. x
