GRANDPARENTS

We try and visit my grandparents at least once a week. If I could drive then I would see them much more. One of my main reason on wanting to drive is because I want to see my Nain and Taid more often, I would love to take them out for lunch one day when the girls are in school or even on a weekend with the girls. Luckily my partner drives and enjoys going to see my Nain and Taid too.

I have so many wonderful memories with both grandparents. They are fantastic grandparents to me and even more fantastic great-grandparents to my girls. Every time I go to see them the bond gets stronger and it would destroy me if anything happened, that is why I try my best to go and see them as much as I can and spend as much time as we can with them.

Mia and Elliw love going too see them. Most of the time we will spend half the day at their house and the same when they come over to mine. We live about a half an hour drive away from them so I don't expect them to come up to see me often so that is why we go to see them more.

One memory I will never forget was when my Taid took me, my brother and my two cousins to the Cinema to watch a film (can't remember what film!) and my Taid fell asleep! It gets worse (and funnier). My Taid was sitting next to my brother and on of my cousins and I was sitting in front of them with the other cousin. I had someone tap my shoulder because my Taid started snoring! How embarrassing, but yet so funny! It didn't happen once either, it happened at least 3 times if I remember rightly. We still laugh about that story.

I feel that the bond between me and my Taid has become much stronger since he lost his mother (my great-grandmother). Even though we were close before that, I just feel like I wanted to make sure he was ok. I wanted him to know people were there for him and care about him. We all miss my great-grandmother, so much. There is a huge part missing in the family without her, but we carry on and live life to the max.

My Nain has and always will be that motherly figure in my life. My own mother was hardly ever around and let me down all my life so the woman I had to look up to was my Nain. She is an amazing woman and I am so proud to call her my Nain.

A few years ago when Mia was a baby my bedroom ceiling in my Dad's house collapsed. Me and Mia were very lucky we weren't there when it happened. Again, I was very lucky that my Nain and Taid took me into their home for a few weeks. I really appreciate what they did and could never thank them enough.

I can honestly say, I love these two amazing people so much!
