Things I Need To Improve In Mia's Bedroom.

Since we had to separate the girls from sharing a bedroom I have felt very guilty that Mia's room is just a small box room with 4 cream walls. Elliw's bedroom is all pink with a Minnie Mouse featured wall. I just feel sad that I haven't really had the time or money to do Mia's bedroom done up properly even though she loves it.

There is a lot of improvements I need to make in her bedroom and I hope to get them all done in the Summer. I will have more time on my hands by then and I will learn myself new things too {hopefully} as I will have to do the DIY work whilst my partner works.

How can I improve her bedroom?

1. The Walls.
I really want to paint the walls. I'd like to paint one or two walls a princess pink colour and decorate the other cream walls with some wall art, photos and a clock. On one wall I would like to give her the room for a white board as she loves pretending she is a teacher.

2. Her bed.
Mia's Dad bought her bed about 2 years ago. It's a pine bed and the mattress is pretty rubbish. Although she has never complained about the mattress being uncomfortable I think I will still buy her a new one. I would love to buy her a new bed frame, something girly.

3. New blinds and Curtains.
I really regret putting the same blinds in Mia's bedroom as we did downstairs. Every evening when she goes to bed it's still like daytime. It took a while to get used to but she knows when it's time for bed so i'm pretty lucky. But she has complained saying she doesnt like the sun coming through her curtains and blinds. I am looking at the VELUX blackout blinds for her bedroom. There are a few different designs and colours too choose from which is great if I decide to do a theme in her bedroom. The curtains she has are thin and not black out. I honestly can't find any nice ones.

4. More storage.
I think I would like to add 3 smaller shelves going down from the side instead of the big white one she has. I think I could decorate it nicer and put more storage boxes on the shelves.

  3. Awww, I wouldn't worry too much, she looks totally thrilled with her new space! I sometimes think like this with my little ones' room as most of the attention has been on his sisters room - but he's just happy to have his room and his stuff where he can get it...so it's not overly high on the priorities list ;) That said, your ideas sound fab! So good luck! Thanks for linking up to #TheList xx
