The First Trimester

I am finally in the second trimester of my pregnancy. I am so glad I am out of the first trimester. It felt like I was in the first trimester for so long! I have a pregnancy app on my phone and it is so nice seeing Baby look like a proper baby now instead of a little alien (hehe!). Every Monday (and sometimes in the week) I open up the app to take a look at roughly what Baby looks like and it just gets me so excited.

I found out I was pregnant on Monday, 16th November 2015. After countless of negative pregnancy tests and a negative blood test from the doctors, I finally had a positive test when I was 16 days late. Counting back, I found out I was pregnant at only 4 weeks. So it makes sense to why the pregnancy does seem a lot slower. I found out at 7 weeks with Mia and 5 weeks with Elliw, so finding out at 4 weeks with Baby is making the first half of pregnancy extra slow.

I haven't been feeling 100% through the first trimester. I have had a lot of pains, which now I look back at and they must of been stretching pains. I've also had no energy, felt nausea very often through the day and for the past two weeks I have been feeling very hormonal and emotional. I have been teary over everything and anything, from small to big.

I don't really have any first trimester essentials. Hot chocolate is something I have been drinking daily as I have been really cold during this pregnancy and I am not usually a cold person. Before I found out I was pregnant with Baby, I would drink up to 6-7 cups of tea, with a lot of sweetener. I suddenly cut back to one a day and then to none a day! I can't stand the thought of the taste in my mouth, or even the smell right now, which is a good thing I guess!

I am really looking forward for my second trimester journey and see how I feel and cope. There area few things I am worried about during this pregnancy - but that is for another post! If you would like to read more of my pregnancy posts you can read them here.

  8. Yay for the second trimester! This is the best one in my opinion. You're over the worst of the sickness and you're not too big yet. Also, the worry of miscarriage is greatly dominished.
