Family Day Out | Good Friday

One thing I love about this time of year is the long weekend we get to spend as a family. Although the rest of the weekend hasn't really gone to plan with my partner because he had to still work in the evenings until 4-5am as we need money, we still had a great weekend. On Good Friday the sun was shining, the kids were well behaved, I had a small lie in and I felt good! I chose the perfect place to visit and couldn't wait to take the girls there.

Llanberis is a place my Dad took me and my brother quite often when we were children so being able to make memories there with my girls means a lot to me. The last time we went to Llanberis was roughly two years ago and you can see the post I wrote about the day, here. I am not quite sure why we had left it so long to visit again because it isn't far from us. Anyway, we all got ourselves ready and made our way there.

Firstly we went to the café and shared 2 bowls of chips between us as we all had a pretty big breakfast. Plus this girls couldn't wait to get a move on and explore. Mia did started a little tantrum when we walked towards the train for Elliw too see, because she wanted to go to the park. After calming Mia down we made our way to the museum.

When we arrived at the museum we were greeted by a lady behind the counter in the shop asking if we wanted a map and if the girls wanted to take part in an Easter egg hunt costing 50p. We said yes and the girls were super excited. They had to find some coloured cardboard eggs and they got a prize at the end.

Seeing the girls getting really excited and really concentrating on their maps, got me pretty excited too. Seeing them laugh and enjoying themselves so much really did make my day. Mia did forget about the park at this point, she was having too much fun. We got to visit different parts of the museum and it was great that the girls, especially Mia was also learning a few things whilst doing the Egg hunt. She got really interested in asking what certain things were and asking to see things. Elliw on the other hand was more scared to check things out and going close to things. She stuck by me, my partner or Mia most of the time.

The part the girls loved was looking at the old houses. I think it really interest them on how old fashioned houses looked years and years ago. They really did remind me of myself by how interested they were. At first I thought they would be a bit wary and freaked out but they loved it. Which was lovely too see.

It took over an hour to finish the Egg hunt and the girls got really excited to get some chocolate and a small prize. When we came out of the museum there was a helicopter really low so the girls got really interested in that, so we just stopped and watched just like everyone else. I, of course, got my camera out and manage to capture a photo of the helicopter which I am pretty pleased about.

When the helicopter went we decided to go for a little walk by the lake. It was getting a little bit more windier but it didn't stop us. The sun was still shining and we decided to just walk around. The girls had fun throwing stones in the water, so did my partner. We took a few photos near the lake and I am so happy with them. Not very often do we get family photos and I was lucky to capture some on such a beautiful day.

We really did have a lovely Good Friday. Here are the rest of our photos:
