How I Plan To Get Into Shape After Baby

If you are regular reader of my blog or if you know me in person you may know that I have been on a yo-yo weight loss rollercoaster. I have gained in this pregnancy but I am pleased with the amount I have gained so far. It is much less than what I gained in my other two pregnancies. I am excited to see how much weight will be lost after baby arrives and I do hope it's quite a lot so it motivates me more to lose this weight and baby weight when he arrives.

I have decided to breastfeed this time round, something I didn't do with my girls. I am not sure if that will help my weight loss journey but I have got other things on my mind that I would like to do to boost my weight loss. I had lost nearly 4 stone on Slimming World before, so I know I can do it. I am determined to lose weight through Slimming World again and get my healthy lifestyle back. Going to Thailand really ruined me and it got me off track so much.

I really want to be fit and healthy for my girls and the way I am right now I don't have that energy to be running around after them. I know I still won't have that energy after pregnancy either. The main parts of my body I am going to focus on the most are my legs and hips. They are my biggest downer in my body. Very rarely will you see me wearing a top without a jacket or cardigan because my hips are so big.

So my plan on how to get into shape is :

Working Out
I will wait a few weeks first before I start working out but I would like to do it within 3-4 weeks if all goes well. If anything like after I had Elliw then I will be perfectly fine. I used to do a lot of home workouts before and I really did enjoy them. I have thought I do have a lot more time to do them once the girls are in full time school in September which means I won't have to worry about going for school runs in the middle of the day every day. I will start it slowly then gradually put in harder work outs as time goes by.

Walking
At one time {shockingly} I was obsessed and addicted to walking. I used to walk 3-4 miles a day and I loved it. It got easier every time and I didn't want to stop but one day I just stopped, I am not sure why or what the reason was either. I am gutted I didn't carry it on but there is no point thinking negative. I struggle to walk at the moment but I am so determined to get back into walking when baby boy arrives. Walking with a pram is much easier than walking with a child isn't it.

Eating Healthy
This will be the Slimming World Plan. I am determined to stick to this plan and with all 3 things together I really hope I can lose this weight. It really is getting me down and I really loved how I looked when I lost the 3 and a half stone. I know how to do the plan it is just getting my head back into it again.

I know if I stick to all of these then I will lose the weight and I do feel very determined to achieve my plans starting from August or September. When I start, all depends how birth went and how I recover after my birth. If it is anything like Elliw then it will be soon but anything like Mia then it will be pretty slow. I am also wanting to bring back the weight loss journey category back into this blog.

  6. Good for you! I'm about to have my first baby and I'm shocked by how much weight I've put on during this pregnancy - but when I fell pregnant I was only just over the 'underweight' mark on the BMI chart so to be fair I could probably have done with putting on a bit of weight. I've heard great things about breastfeeding and weightloss too, and I'm planning to do my best to breastfeed, but I'm not going to beat myself up about it too much if it doesn't happen - I'll just have to live in my comfy maternity jeans for a bit longer! I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well and wish you luck in your future weight loss journey! #KCACOLS

  11. I'm on the same mission as you (except it's not baby weight, it's just lazy 30 something weight). Walking is one of the things I am using so I hope you get back into it. Good luck.

  16. Good luck with your weight loss. I've battled with my weight all my life and pretty much lived on a diet. I lost six stone a few years ago and gained a stone back again due to ill health, I'm determined to shed that stone again.

  18. Good Luck. Im just starting to think about getting my body back now after 18 months. Walking does help but then not when you are eating tons of chocolate. Breastfeeding does that to you , makes u crave sweet stuff... so hopefully your better than me at avoiding eating it lol :D

  20. Sounds to me like you've got a good plan there. Walking is definitely a good idea, I used to walk loads with my son in his buggy. I breastfed my daughter, and did lose weight initially, but then put it back on as feeding made me so hungry I was eating chocolate from a stash on my bedside table during 2am feeds! x #KCACOLS
