5 Ways To Encourage Your Kids To Eat Fruit

Kids can be the fussiest eaters and it's important to make sure they get a balanced diet through their childhood. Robin Crusoe is a brand new film that is currently out in store now, the film heavily features fruit. Watching this film can be a great way of encouraging children to get at least one of their 5-a-day into their balanced diet. Although kids can be fussy, there may be ways to encourage kids to eat fruit by making/baking fun things or even hiding it. Here are a few ways you can encourage fruit into your child's diet:

This is so simple, cheap and easy to make. It's very messy and kids love messy. You can top these sliced apples with many other toppings. You can also try a white chocolate or a different sauce other than caramel sauce. You can make it your own so your child loves it. Perfect for snacks and treats.

2. Fruit Kebabs

Kids love all things bright and colourful. Fruit kebabs can be bright and colourful with adding many different fruit such as strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, bananas, apples and anything else you'd like your child to try. Let your kids make these kebabs themselves, they will love it!

3. Make it fun!

Plate up some fruit during snack time and make it look fun and tasty. By making it fun you could make a face or some other drawing out of fruit. Kids will love this and is a great way of encouraging kids to eat fruit and trying new fruits.

4. Visit a farm

Take your kids to your local fruit picking farm and make a day out of picking fresh fruit such as strawberries. If you don't have a local farm that does this, you can pick some blackberries during certain times of the year.

5. Fruit smoothie

Sometimes food can taste different if you do something different to it and one way of making fruit taste different is making it a smoothie. Again, the smoothie will be colourful. You could ask your child to choose 2-3 different fruits {or more} to make a smoothie. You could also make an ice cream.

You and the kids could also watch a movie together and have some fruit snacks or a fruit salad in a bowl to share whilst watching a film. Robin Cruosoe is out on DVD on the 26th September 2016 in stores and online - a perfect family film.

  1. Great ideas! I personally take my kids to the farm then teach them how important fruits/vegetables are.
