Our School Morning Routine

I think I was kind of lucky that Freddie was born a day after the girls finished school, ready for the summer holidays. The holidays were tough but we were able to adjust to life with a newborn pretty easy and be lazy most days. As the summer holidays were coming to an end I knew I had to prepare myself for a school morning routine, which I wasn't looking forward too.

Since the girls started back at school we have come to some kind of school morning routine. With very little sleep during the night it has been tough but we've always managed getting out of the front door by 8.40am which is perfect timing to walk to school by 9am. The first week was the hardest because Mia was playing up badly every morning, as well as me getting stressed making sure we were ready and out of the house by a certain time and Freddie not 100% in a routine with feeding. As the weeks have gone by Freddie has kind of got himself into a routine now. Most mornings have been quite similar recently which has been a good routine for us all.

I get up around 7-7.30am {sometimes 6-6.30am}

I get myself ready

Get the girls changed to their school uniform

Brush and style the girls hair

Give them breakfast

-

I attempt to get all of the above done by 8am.

-

Change Freddie's nappy and get him changed

Feed Freddie

Get Freddie ready into the pram

Pack the girls lunch bag {sandwiches done the night before}

Put our coats on and out of the house between 8.30-8.40am

-

Freddie then usually sleeps on the way to school in his pram. He then wakes up the minute we arrive home or within 10 minutes of arriving home. He will then have a feed and get a nap by 10.30-11am.

Our school morning routine is much better than I thought it would be and I'm so pleased. Most mornings can still be really stresfull, especially if I have had a rough night with Freddie waking up or staying up late but there are ways of motivating yourself on an early morning to start your day, which I try and do myself.

  5. That sounds like a pretty good school morning routine. I have four year old twins and we always manage to be ready by 8.30. I must admit though, if I had a baby too, I'd probably struggle! Thanks for linking up to #ThatFridayLinky

  7. Routine is crucial not only for your sanity but for the kids as well. Makes things go smoothly and sets the tone for the day.

  11. How do you manage so much in such a short time if you get up at 7am!!!? You need to tell me your secret... I am always late wuth Baba. He always decides to do a poop or something else that needs some urgent care and we always leave like 20 minutes late! YOu are so well trained with 3 kids hahaha #ThatFridayLinky

  12. It's so important to have a consistent routine for children, especially where school is concerned. Riley has to be at school for 8.30am in the mornings so i have an earlier start but i tend to to get the uniforms and packed lunches ready the night before so there's not as much rushing around in the morning.xx

  14. This is such a good routine. Little Miss H started pre-school in September and I had never had to have a routine before that. As I was always at home with her. I was so scared before the first day. Worried we wouldn't get out the door. But having a routine and sticking to it is the best way to get everyone out of the door on time. Hugs Lucy xxxx

  15. Some mornings I manage really well and others are a nightmare. I try and not get in a flap as that always make me even later. A thing that has made a big difference is having all the clothes set out and ready the night before. Thanks for linking to #PickNMix

  17. We also get up around the same time. Sounds like you have a fab routine in place with your three little ones. I think that is important when having three, my friend recently had her third baby and said that as long as she has her routine in place it is easy enough with three. Lovely post Beth, you little man is getting so big xx
