My Top 5 Christmas Films

I absolutely love this time of year, where I can switch the lights off, light the log burner and snuggle up watching Christmas films. Anyone who knows me personally, know that I love Christmas. When the summer is over, I really look forward to the winter nights watching films. This year I get extra cuddles with Freddie which makes it even more exciting as it will be his first ever Christmas this year. I've watched many Christmas films over the years and these have to be my favourite films so far;

1. Home Alone 1 & 2
I am not a fan of Home Alone 3 & 4. It may be because I'm used to the original actors? But 3 & 4 just don't do it for me. Home Alone is about a boy named Kevin (Macaulay Culkin) who accidently gets left behind as the rest of his family go on holiday {in both films!}. Kevin enjoys the free house until he finds himself having to save his home from two crooks who are trying to burgle his home. Of course, each film has a happy ending. This Christmas comedy is worth the watch and a perfect classic family film.

2. Elf
Buddy the Elf, who is played by one of my favourite actors, Will Ferrell, was accidently transported to the North Pole when he was a toddler. He was raised by his fellow elves and he feels as if he doesn't fit in, so he makes his way to the 'real world' in New York City, to find his Father. This film will guarantee the whole family to laugh!

3. The Grinch
The Grinch is played by another one of my favourite actors, Jim Carrey. The Grinch is a film from the beloved children's tale by Dr. Suess. The Grinch is a right grump who basically; hates everything Christmas. He lives right up the mountains with his dog. He makes himself down to the village and tries to steal everything related to the festive holiday. He is then met by a little girl, Cind-Lou. Can she change his mind with his hatred towards Christmas?

4. The Polar Express
I watched this film for the first time just three years ago and I have loved it ever since. It's such a family Christmas film. This exciting adventure is based on a children's book by Chris Van Allsburg. This film taks a young boy on a magical train journey that shows him that wonder of life never fades, if you believe!

5. The Nightmare Before Christmas
I only discovered this film a couple of years ago and I fell in the love with the film the first time I watched it. The popular character, Jack Skelleton is bored of his usual yearly routine of frightening people and finds Christmastown. Another great family film to watch this Christmas.
