Choosing The Right Bed For Your Kids Sharing A Room

Our girls were in separate bedrooms up until a year ago when we decided to put them into on bedroom before Freddie came along. They have been in separate single beds up until a few weeks ago when we decided to buy them a bunk bed. Our main reason for choosing a bunk bed was because we needed more space in their bedroom, although their bedroom is pretty big, we wanted space for an extra chest of drawers because the wardrobe they have at the moment is too small for all their clothes.

There are many kinds of beds out there right now, but it's important to choose the right bed for your child. If your kids share a bedroom and you're thinking of buying a bunk bed, there are many things to consider such as the safety, what kind of bunk bed and more. There are a Vast Collection of Bunk Beds from Room To Grow to choose from, and on their site, they offer great advice on how to decide the best bunk bed for your child.

Here are a few of my own tips on choosing the right bed for your kids;

Share or Separate?
Firstly, you need to decide whether you want a bunk bed or separate single beds. There are many to choose from and once you've decided you will need to think of many other things such as storage etc.

Enough room/storage?
If you are looking to have more storage, you may need to see if the bed comes with under bed storage or space for you to add some of your own under bed storage boxes.

The right height?
If you have younger kids, whether it's a single or a bunk bed it may be best to test out the height. You can do this by visiting a store and see the different height beds. If you have young kids, it may be best to get quite a low bunk bed, so it's not so dangerous for whoever sleeps on the top bunk.

Think future
If you're looking at getting a bunk bed for your kids, you may need to consider the future. There's a possible chance in future they'll want to sleep in separate single beds. Some bunk beds can separate into two single beds. This will save you money too.

How did you choose the right bed for your child?
