Simple Ways To Fresh Up Your Home For Spring

I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to the weather to start brightening up and for the rain, snow and wind to calm down. Spring is just around the corner, and it's one of my favourite seasons of the year. Everything looks so beautiful and so calm during Springtime. One of the things I like to do and are planning to do before Spring is to freshen up our family home. There are so many things to do to freshen up a home. Here are just a few simple ways you can do the same:

1. De-clutter
Having clutter all over your home can make your home feel smaller and messy. Making sure you de-clutter every room can not only make your home feel fresh, but it can also make you feel better too. I'm sure once you've had a day or two (or more) to de-clutter your whole home, you'll soon realise that you kept so much rubbish you didn't need.

Top tip: If you have things kept away that you never look at but really need to keep it (possibly something sentimental), why not keep it in a strong, safe box and put it in your attic? By keeping it in a box keeps it hidden and it looks less cluttered.

2. Re-paint your walls
You could possibly re-paint all your walls or walls that need brightening up or updating. Going for fresh colours such as white, pastel colours and greys will most definitely give that lovely fresh feeling in your home.

3. Accessories
Adding accessories to your home such as your cushions, curtains, trinkets and plants will most definitely give that 'home' feeling to your home. You don't have to over-do it, you could add a plant or two in most rooms, brightening the room up with little trinkets and the curtains will give a warm feel to the home too. Direct Blinds have a great selection of curtain that will be great for freshening your home.

4. Fresh Air
There is nothing better than waking up in the morning, opening your curtains/blinds and opening all your windows to let the fresh air come into your home. Opening windows, when the sun is out and on a warm day definitely helps the home feel ready for Spring. Also helps by kicking all the dirty germs out of the home as not many people open their windows during winter.
