Do you suffer Monday blues? I do! For me it's the first day back for school runs which mean I have to up and ready before 8.15am so I can get the girls too school. For many it's first day back at work too. Getting motivated on Mondays can be pretty tough right? But for some, many people are motivated on Mondays but if you are one who isn't, like me, then here are 4 tips that may help you get motivated every (most) Mondays!
PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE
This can help so much. Getting things prepared the night or day before can make Mondays a little easier. For example you could make sure you're on top of the washing, the house work and lunch boxes are packed and ready for the morning. If you have children then you could make sure their school uniforms are out ready, along with their shoes, coats and bags.
GET THE HOUSE WORK DONE
If you didn't get the house work done the night before then doing it on a Monday morning can help your 'mood' for the rest of the day. House work is one of the most boring and hated things to do but it's got to be done hasn't it? So why not get it over and done with at the start of the week and keep on top of it for the rest of the week bit by bit.
MEET UP WITH FRIENDS
If you haven't seen your friends over the weekend, why not have a cuppa and a catch up? Catch up with what you have all been up to during the weekend and it can make the day go quicker - in a way.
PLAN THE WEEK AHEAD
Planning for the week ahead may get you motivated for Monday and the rest of the week. Preparing for Monday you could plan to do a few things. Whether it is meeting with friends, getting house chores, completing tasks at work or whatever you want to achieve or plan.
GO FOR AN EARLY WALK
Nothing can motivate you more than morning fresh air. Getting up early in the morning to go for a walk or even just some exercise at home can make you motivated on Mondays. Also exercise is good for your health and puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day - if nothing else spoils it of course!
What do you do on Mondays to motivate yourselves? Do you suffer from 'Monday blues'?
I totally agree, going for a walk always motivates and inspires me. I love getting a bit of fresh air when I can. x
ReplyDeleteGreat tips. I find Monday's either go one way or the other either super productive or a complete waste so these will help me on the days that aren't so successful. I think getting outside always gets me going! xx
ReplyDeleteI love to do my housework on a monday. I agree, it is sooo good to get it out the way for the week :)

Agree with all of the above, just need to get my ass in gear and put in into action. God I hate Mondays....
ReplyDeletePreparrng the night before and planning the week ahead are key! I know this, but I am so bad at it. Most days I put my daughter's lunch together the night before but sometimes I'm too exhausted and just want to lay down. But it honestly makes for a terribly difficult morning and usually makes us late. Hopefully I'll get more organized than this before our second baby comes in February!
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips for people with and without kids! I am one of those people who plans ahead, sometimes weeks in advance, it keeps me organised and keeps my anxiety to a minimum! Lol. Ive been thinking about making a housework rota for myself so I can keep on top of everything too! x
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky Monday is my non-working day and it's been renamed Meday so I can do housework etc but also have coffee with friends and run any child free errands I need too. #love2blog
ReplyDeleteGoing for a walk would help if the weather wouldn't be so bad all the time. We tend to go for family walks every weekend though.
ReplyDeleteKeeping on top of the washing is very hard these days. There's always more in the basket for some reason no matter how quick I wash.
Great tips. I like to plan ahead and have at least something to do on each day to keep me busy x
ReplyDeleteOh I do hate Monday Mornings -I do like to start the week with a nice coffee somewhere ;) Love all the above (except the housework one!) Kaz x
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post! Mondays are my busiest day of the week, and I'd love to have more time to clean on Monday mornings. The best thing I've done to help me with Mondays is to get ready the night before, hire someone to come clean my house while I'm working, and order soup from a food service for dinner. Then I can have a nice cuppa after dinner in my nice clean home!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with with early morning walks and getting as much as you can prepared the night before. I definitely need to work on my Monday game and coffee is definitely my go-to! x
ReplyDeleteMonday's are either a complete write off or really productive for me. Lamb goes to his grandmas at 9 but she picks him up so there's no need for me to get dressed! I try to make appointments etc to encourage me to leave the house, rather than sit on my bum blogging! X
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas and I think having a good Monday really helps with the rest of week going well :) thanks for shading. Think I need to add a walk back into my schedule!
ReplyDeleteI still often get the Monday blues even though I'm a stay at home mum. I always attempt to plan the week on a Sunday and get as organised as possible for the week to come. I find that getting some fresh air in the mornings can really set you up for the day.
