17 Weeks Pregnancy Update

17 weeks pregnant and baby is apparently the size of an onion! It's mad to think I only have 23 weeks left! But I may only have 20-23 weeks left because there is a good chance I will be induced early, again. Nothing much has really changed from my 16 week pregnancy update really. Only difference is I do feel like I have popped out a lot more this week! When I put the photo above on Facebook the other day my partner was even shocked at how big I looked at only 17 weeks (he was in work when he saw it). I dread to think how big I am going to be near the end!

FEELING - The only difference this week is I have been feeling a lot more nausea this week. I've overcome my cold from last week, thank god. But I am not enjoying this nausea feeling every now and then through out the day. I've also noticed I am being light headed pretty much every day. Especially if I'm standing still for longer than five minutes (or less) or I haven't had something to eat for a few hours. So I do have to try and make sure I don't get hungry. I don't fancy fainting whilst the kids are with me!

MOVEMENTS - I have felt baby boy move quite a bit. He's having fun in the mornings pushing up against my belly and making my belly look oddly shaped. Can be pretty uncomfortable at times but it's an amazing feeling isn't it? I've missed it so much and I feel so lucky to be able to experience I again and probably for the last time too.

APPOINTMENTS - I've had no appointments in the past week but I have my scan on the 9th of March and my next appointment with the midwife is in April to have a test to see if I have diabetes or not.

WEIGHT LOSS - I got weighed in my local Slimming World group on Wednesday evening and I gained 0.5lbs. Which I was actually really pleased with. I had been totally off plan. But in three weeks I have gained 4lbs total so I think it is about time for me to change that around and concentrate on going back on plan now!

CRAVINGS - I've not had any huge cravings but I have craved for milky ways! They were my cravings with Mia too!

CLOTHING - I am forever living in maternity leggings. They are so comfortable. But I need to find some jeans that are comfortable. I have noticed my normal sized tops are stretching when I wear them so I try and wear baggy tops or maternity tops.

SYMPTOMS - Just nausea, sore and itchy boobs (urgh!), emotional and sometimes I can be quite moody (I feel sorry for my partner, lol!). I've had a few stretching pains and pains right on top of my leg but I think that may be a sign I need to walk more! But pretty hard to go out walking when I am feeling unwell at home but I will get back into walking.

OBSTETRIC CHOLESTASIS SIGNS - Still just itching now and then but still very mild and nothing to report or complain about!

  20. Hi Beth, how exciting that you know he's the size of an onion now. With my first pregnancy you could hardly tell I was pregnant, so when I quadrupled in size for my second I was shocked, but my second baby was nearly double the size of my first.

The nausea that can go with being pregnant is a pain, I hope it passes for you very soon. And I hope that your pregnancy continues to run smoothly and your girls look after you when they can. Bet they are so excited too.

    Take care and keep well.

    xx

  49. Lovely update and lovely bump pic :-) I just bought some maternity jeans from TopShop last week and would really recommend them for fit and comfort. I could really do with some maternity leggings myself, but have a feeling I'll probably end up living in them too - its so hard to get comfortable these days :-) Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. 50. Ahh pregnancy... the wonders it does to our body is simply incredible. I have morning sickness throughout my first trimester and every smell smelt bad haha. I had serious cravings for spicy food plus pepper and mustard. Yep.

  53. You may also notice your eyes becoming drier. Using over-the-counter lubricating drops may help. If your contact lenses become uncomfortable, try wearing them for shorter stretches of time. If you still have discomfort, switch to glasses until after you give birth.
