Oh, my sweet little boy. Six weeks old already. The past six weeks has been a challenge but it's been amazing. I wouldn't of changed a thing... Ok, maybe I would of preferred a few days where the girls could of been in school but otherwise it was all good. I really can't believe my little boy is now six weeks old. Six weeks seems like a big step as I remember when he was newborn I was just hoping the sixth week wouldn't come by so quickly because when the six weeks come by it's when the health visitor slowly cuts visits and the time for my six week post partum check up.
It does make me feel sad that Freddie isn't really a newborn anymore. He's always been a big baby since the day he was born but to me he is little. He is my little boy. It did get on my nerves {a lot} when people would just repeat the words 'oh he's a big boy' and so on. Nothing I should get annoyed about, but I did and it still does when people say it over and over again.
It only seems like yesterday that I gave birth to him. The whole 9 months of my pregnancy with Freddie had just flown by. Some days I even forgot that I was pregnant but I think it was because it just didn't seem real that we were having a boy and because I had my two girls to look after also. Looking back I really wish I could of enjoyed the pregnancy more because I'm not going to have another baby again, I'm not going to experience pregnancy again. It does make me upset but at the time I just really couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted too. But each day when I woke up, I was so happy that I was having my first little boy growing inside of me.
The first couple of weeks were so lovely. My partner was off work for two weeks which was something I was really looking forward to because he hardly ever has days off work, unless he books a holiday {hardly ever} or if the kids have an important appointment somewhere, otherwise, he works. I am lucky to have him off off work and home on the weekends though. I was dreading that 3rd week when my partner had to return to work. Really dreading it. I had all kinds of thoughts going through my head. How would I cope with three children on my own?
When my partner returned to work it was hard. It didn't help that he was working late most days but I got on with it. I think it's been a lot more stressful because the girls are on holiday from school and just arguing, a lot! We have had a few days out such as going for a walk around the village and taking them to the play centre and I am planning to take them to a few places again in this last week before they start school again. The summer holidays hasn't gone to plan as I thought - which is quite disappointing but hopefully I can make it up in this last week now.
I have loved every single minute of my little boy growing and changing. I adore how he scrunches himself up when I pick him up and his expressions are just adorable. He doesn't sleep much during the day but he does love falling asleep in my arms having cuddles. So many things have changed within the six weeks. I've even realised that the girls have grown so much since Freddie was born, especially Elliw. I do wish time would slow down just a little .But I am love every single minute watching my girls and my boy growing up.
Congrats on your baby boy! My daughter turns 6 weeks this week also! Enjoy #MarvMondays
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely and honest. I've got number three on the way (a third boy for me!) I've been worried a bit about balancing the other two and the baby, but it sounds like I just need to embrace the change and we will figure it out. Enjoy those sweet snuggles I know they are fleeting and am very much looking forward to mine - even if they come in the middle of the night!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, he looks absolutely gorgeous I could just pinch those cheeks. The girls look delighted with the little bundle of joy.

But of course, they're worth all the hardship. Thanks for linking up to #MarvMondays. Kaye xo
