Bright Minds have a great range of educational toys for kids of all ages. From science, maths, English to arts & crafts and more, you are bound to find something fun and educational for your child. We were kindly gifted one of their GeoSafari Jr. My First Microscope to review. I personally thought a microscope is something Freddie, who's 5 and even Elliw, who's 10, would be interested in. They are both the kind of children who love experimenting and finding out a little more about things.
The first thing is, the microscope requires 3x AAA batteries, which are sold seperatley. I think that's one thing I always look at when purchasing any toys for the kids. The last thing you want is for a child to be excited over something, then realise you didn't check if batteries are supplied or not.
The first thing I noticed about the microscope is the quality. It's a chunky design, which is good for little ones with their little hands. Although it is a child's first microscope it's a fully functional one. It has up to 8x magnification which is pretty amazing. It also has two large rubber eyepieces, which makes it easier and more comfortable for the child to look through, instead of the usual standard microscopes where you need to close one eye.
As well as an amazing 8x magnification it also has an LED light to enhance the clarity of the image. You can pretty much use anything to investigate, from money, insects, paper, clothing, and anything else your child wants to see!
If your child is always experimenting, this is a great toy to give. It's been very popular in our home and the kids love putting all kinds of random things in to experiment the object even closer.
You can find more educational toys over on the Bright Minds website.
