First of all I want to say... Happy 6th Birthday to my beautiful daughter Mia. I honestly can not believe I am now a Mam to a SIX year old. Where has the time gone? Seriously. I am a late writing this post (10.30pm) but better late than never and I have had a hectic week and a busy Friday and Saturday celebrating Mia's birthday. The time right now, 6 years ago I had not long arrived to the ward to settle in over night, with Mia. She was such a quiet baby and if I remember rightly she only woke up once during the night and even slept through when all the other babies were crying. When she did wake up, I gave her my little finger to hold and she went straight back to sleep and since that day up until last year she was forever holding my little finger. It was really annoying in the end, but now I miss it.
I was sitting down the other day watching Mia changing channels on the TV. I remember just during the Summer time I used to get so annoyed when she asked me to change the channels all the time, especially when I was busy working or doing house work. But now I really miss it. It's really weird how you miss the very small things just like the big things.
I will never forget holding my first baby girl in my arms. I was only 17 years old but my life changed for the better. Mia has grown to be such a beautiful, polite and funny little girl. She reminds me of my younger self. She loves her writing and drawing. She loves playing school and pretending she is the teacher. I wouldn't change her for the world.
On Friday evening I decided last minute to book a family meal. It was really nice having my side of the family and some of my partners side of the family all together. The place we had food was extremely hot and we all couldn't wait to get out of the room. When we decided to leave, my uncle found a part of the pub empty and it was like two small rooms, enough room for us all to sit and it wasn't hot. So we were all in there for a few hours. It was really nice all of us having a chat and the girls and their cousin playing together.
Saturday morning was really busy for me. We woke up early-ish! We came downstairs and Mia was over excited with her presents and seeing that Elf on the Shelf, Buddy was there with her presents, holding a balloon. She loved all her presents, and got really excited. Four friends came over and we had a little lunch buffet and let all the kids play. Later on in the afternoon we took Mia and Elliw to the playcentre with 3 friends and my uncle and cousin met us there. We stayed there for over two hours. All the kids really enjoyed themselves. We then dropped Mia off in her Dad's house so she could go and celebrate her birthday with his side of the family.
I really hope my not-so-little girl has enjoyed her birthday and I hope she enjoys her time celebrating with her Dad's side of the family. I am ever so proud of my gorgeous and beautiful daughter.
Mam loves you so much Mia X

ReplyDeleteMy first born will be 6 on Jan 11 and I totally understand what you're saying about missing certain things that at the time was sometimes annoying but now I'd give anything to have it happen just one more time. But at the same time I am so proud of the little man he is changing into daily. It makes me proud that his teacher and others around him adore who he is and that I can take credit for some of that cause I've been with him everyday since he was born. Time goes by so fast but I'm enjoying every minute. Thanks so much for hostessing #justanotherlinky ๐๐Trista
