The past few weeks Mia is forever doing handstands and roly-poly's! If she sees grass then she will ask me if she can do a handstand or a roly-poly there, even in the house! I bought a new rug Bank Holiday weekend and she thought I bought it for her so she could do her roly-poly's and handstands. Of course, I spend £30 on a rug for her to handstands and roly-polys *sarcasm*
A few weeks ago I picked Mia up from after school club and it was a nice day so I went to go pick her up with Elliw because my partner was working late. The after school club is in a cabin next to her school. Her school has a huge field at the front and Mia went straight onto the grass to show me her handstand. Then all of a sudden she did a perfect cartwheel too! I managed to get a video of her which you can watch below.
Mia is really enjoying outdoor activities recently. We went to my grandparents' house bank holiday Monday and my Taid had bought the girls a hula-hoop each. Mia went straight outside and started hula-hooping! It amazed me how well she was doing it. I am starting to think of taking her to a gymnastic class but I am not sure if she will be too shy. Yet again, it will give her more confidence as she gets older!
What a lovely snap! cartwheels and handstands really scream 'childhood' to me, I love them, and seeing little ones practicing them :-) The closest I get these days is after a couple of drinks- and then I remember that my inner-thigh muscles are not quite up to scratch anymore!
I love it when they really enjoy getting out and being adventurous outside. Handstands were the best when I was growing up and I went on to do flips and gymnastic/cheerleading too and it was so fun.
