Although Thanksgiving is an American tradition where they spend a day for being thankful for everything that have, Thanksgiving is growing in popularity in the UK. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday ever November. I personally think Thanksgiving day is a perfect celebration. I mean, you get a day off work, celebrate it with your loved ones, be thankful and no presents.
Ocean Finance are currently running a Thanksgiving Campaign by getting people to appreciate things that they already have. They have asked me to share with you three home based things that I am thankful for and here are mine -
MY SATURDAY NIGHT IN
I love my night in on Saturday. Once the girls are in bed I change into my cosy clothes and dressing and make myself cosy on the sofa to have a cosy night in watching TV, probably X Factor. Some Saturday my partner will work but when he doesn't we sometimes watch a film on a Saturday night. I am thankful that my girls go to sleep pretty easy most nights, so I can get my 'quiet evenings' by sitting in front of the TV with a cuppa.
WORKING FROM HOME
I am thankful that I am able to work from home. Thankful that my blog is being recognised by a lot of people and PR's. Thankful that I can work in the comfort of my own home, looking after my beautiful daughters and still earn money each month. Never did I think my blog would be where it is now and I thank each and every one of readers for that.
CUDDLE TIME WITH MY GIRLS
I love those days where me and the girls cuddle up and watch a film and sometimes my partner will join in if he isn't working too. It's such a precious time and I am so thankful that I have two healthy beautiful little girls who are growing up ever so quickly.
We all take things for granted at times. We don't realise how lucky we are to have a roof over our heads, to have evenings in the house in front of the TV with a nice hot cup of tea or coffee. We don't realise how lucky we are to have our children. It would be nice if the UK did have their own Thanksgiving day so we can all have a day to be thankful for.
Do you celebrate Thanksgiving day?
