HOW I AM FEELING
I've not been feeling to bad this week. The side effects of the tablets are getting me down and getting me pretty fed up but otherwise I have been fine and nothing else to complain about! I feel like I have complained so much through this pregnancy. But I just really wanted to write honest weekly updates and just let it out about how I feel. There is no hiding behind a fake smile is there.
This pregnancy isn't the best pregnancy I've had, infact it is one of the worst I have had so far. But I haven't got long left now and we are all super exciting to meet him.
APPOINTMENTS
I have appointments every week now, so I thought I would do it in sections and talk about how each day went. Other than these appointments, next week I have these two appointments and my consultant, along with my scan on Thursday. So 3 visits to hospital next week instead of 2!
TUESDAY BLOODS & CTG CHECK UP - My bile acids had raised to 32 {last week} and ALT's into the 100's. I took my usual bloods and the doctor asked midwives to take more bloods from me to rule out everything that could be causing my bloods to raise. So I had 7 bottles of blood taken off me! Not fun.
FRIDAY CTG - I had a 45 minute wait to get to my appointment because the unit was so busy! When I finally got called in, she put me straight on the monitor and was there longer than I thought, because Baby boy kept moving away and playing up. He doesn't like staying in one place! I got my bile acids results through which were 25, which means they had gone down!
OBSTETRIC CHOLESTASIS
The itching has calmed down the past 2 or 3 days, which I am so pleased about. I can sleep a bit better {kind of!!}. Bile acids have gone down, which is great. The doctor now wants me to make 2 weekly visits to hospital. One day for bloods and monitoring and the other day for monitoring. As annoying and hard it is fitting it around the school run and getting to the hospital, with it being a 30 minute journey. I am glad they are keeping an eye on me!
With my consultant appointment next Thursday, I have a lot of questions to ask such as induction and future plans and so on. I will let you all know next week how it goes on my 29 week update.
HOW THE GIRLS FEELThe girls are still super excited.
BABY BOY
SCAN - No scan until 12th of May.
MOVEMENTS - Baby boy has been moving, alot! I am starting to notice a little routine. He seems to have little naps in the mornings, wide awake around 3 - 5 am and during the late morning.
MEASURING - I am measuring 29 cm , which is 1 week ahead and I am in the 95th centile {out of the line on chart}
SYMPTOMS
I have been getting a lot of abdominal pains along with diarreah {sorry!} for the past 2 or so weeks. They are side effects of the tablets that I am on, so nothing can help! Just feeling sorry for myself.
I have started to feel heavy! Baby boy loves bouncing on my bladder, so I am forever going to toilet.
The weather isn't helping so much, so I am feeling HOT! Too hot...
Sleeping... VERY uncomfortable.
Restless legs too - not fun!
I really wanted to show this photo! This photo is ONLY TWO weeks difference!

Aw! Not long now. I'm glad the itching has eased a bit. Only a 38 week pregnant lady would be struggling with the nice weather we've been having! ;) I was the same! #Justanotherlinky

ReplyDeleteWow what a difference two weeks makes! I used to hate having my bloods taken while I was pregnant. Not pregnant, not bothered but I used to get really dizzy when I was pregnant! I don't think you moan AT ALL, I love your updates xx
ReplyDeleteI can not believe how much has changed in just two weeks. So glad the girls are excited, I bet the baby boy will be so spoilt by them when he comes along x
ReplyDeleteAww, bless you! I hope you feel better/the side effects of the tablets wear off soon! NOt much longer now. Your bump is SO cute. I miss being pregnant so much (I never thought I would say that!) xx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you haven't been feeling that great, I hope the side effects wear off soon. I recently got put on some tablets for a stomach disorder and I spent five days in bed feeling like the room was spinning, it was dreadful. You look really good though - pregnancy suits you :)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh all those bloods - I hope it isn't anything untoward going on - glad you have been feeling "ok" this week. x
ReplyDeleteOh gosh that is a lot of appointments, and a lot of blood taken! I don't envy you, but at least they're keeping an eye on you, and not long to go xx
ReplyDeleteThis just made me remember my 3rd trimester - being pregnant in this heat is not easy. Hope you are keeping cool. X
ReplyDeleteGood to know you are not feeling too bad. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteIt's so fun following your pregnancy. It's like i'm part of the journey each time I read and not even there. Love it! :)
ReplyDeleteDelighted to hear how excited the girls are. It's not long left for them to wait until they meet their baby brother xx
ReplyDeleteI never enjoyed either of my pregnancies! I'm glad the itching has subsided, I can't imagine that was pleasant for you. Like you said at least they're keeping a closer eye on, that's what I kept reminding myself when I had weekly hospital visits :)
ReplyDeleteXxx
gosh i remember my tummy was SO itchy, i tried a certain cream which i reacted to as well! definitely don't miss that, hope your symptoms ease up soon xx
ReplyDeleteHi Beth, your lad is certainly growing fast, in two weeks the difference is quite noticeable! It's good that the hospital is look after you, but seven bottles of blood sounds a lot, are the aware you actually need some yourself?
ReplyDeletePersonally I think it's good that you are sharing your pregnancy experience warts and all, I never enjoyed being pregnant although my only problem was a very low iron level. It's good as some women may feel they have to be happy during pregnancy.
xx
Wow 7 bottles of blood is crazy and I cannot believe the change in the size of your bump, yet you still manage to look amazing x
ReplyDeleteYikes gosh sorry you are not so good at the min I am sure you will pick up soon .x
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the itching has subsided a little. I had that in pregnancy and it was awful. Not long now.
ReplyDeleteGreat news about the itching, I had hoped after your previous post that you'd have an improvement soon.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of appointments. I've two a month since my first appointment. I'd say your wrecked constantly going in and out of the hospital
ReplyDeletehopefully you'll feel better soon and not long to go now x x sending loads of love x
ReplyDeleteHopefully the rest of your pregnancy will be a walk in the park! x
ReplyDeleteWow you must be elated as the day is coming very soon. Great account of pregnancy. R
ReplyDeleteNot long now, I hope things start to settle down for you now.
ReplyDeleteAw you look great hun, such a fab bump!! #bestandworst
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like everything is going well medically which is great. But I'm sorry to hear you're suffering in the heat, hopefully the cooler weather has helped you out these last couple of days. I remember when I slept I felt like a whale rolling out of bed each time. Thanks for hosting x
ReplyDeleteWow you look fab! I would moan away. I moaned for England in the first trimester. Was so hard. Glad your itching is getting a bit better and you can skeep a bit. Not long now!! Thanks for sharing with #bestandworst xx
ReplyDeleteNot long to go now! I grew more in my last 3 weeks as was tiny on the lead up and then ballooned! good luck with everything #bestandworst
ReplyDeleteNot too long left! Glad the bile acids & itching have reduced a bit. I had a period during my third trimester with second baby of having to go for scans and fetal heart monitoring once to twice a week every week due to very small size and some low readings on amniotic fluid - it is really hard to organise going in so much, especially with often long waits for appointments, and I had a 1 year old with me every time. But you're right - it's good that they are monitoring & checking for problems, so nothing to complain about really! Hope final trimester passes without too much trouble for you. #justanotherlinky
