Pregnancy Scans

A few weeks after finding out I was pregnant with Freddie I decided that I really wanted a private 3D scan. I remember that I wanted one when I was pregnant with Elliw but I just never got round to it. I found somewhere that did a gender scan before 16 weeks. So at 14 weeks 5 days I went to HelloBaby near Liverpool and got my 3D gender scan done. The woman saw that I had two girls and asked if I would like a boy this time - I am not going to lie, I did want a boy. Not long after, she told me I was carrying a little boy! At first I thought she was joking around until I saw the screen and it was just very obvious he was boy. I was over the moon. No words could describe how happy I was at that time.
I had my normal 20 week scan at my hospital and I was crossing my fingers that the 3D scan was correct, even though I knew it was because it was pretty obvious. I had the scan done and he confirmed that I was carrying a baby boy. That was when I properly started buying baby boy clothes and other items. But the only thing I could think about again was booking another private scan. This time I went to Babybond in Chester at 32 weeks to have a 4D bonding scan. The scan was just amazing.

At the scan I was a little worried that maybe it will ruin the 'what will he look like' surprise but as I saw my little boy's face on the screen I was so glad I did it. It was truly amazing. He instantly looked like his Daddy with his nose shape. From then on I just couldn't wait until he was born. I do not regret booking the private scans during my pregnancy. They both totalled £100-£130 each scan but I am glad I booked both.

  1. Aw he does look the same! It's funny we had no private scans with our first but this one had 2! The gender scan was awesome and we got a bit of 3D then. I definitely think it helps with bonding xx #binkylinky

  2. Wow it's incredible how you can see the resemblance between the scan picture and the newborn one! I didn't have a 4D scan with Piglet, but as he is an IVF baby, I do have a picture of him as a blastocyst in the lab, which is pretty cool. You can't really see a resemblance though! #KCACOLS

  3. Haven't tried 3d or 4d scans with my kids, but it's great to see their facial features while they're still at our tummy, isn't it? He looks adorable! #KCACOLS
