6 Ways I Doubled My Page Views

I had lost my blogging mojo for a while, but for the past few days, I've been working hard on getting some motivation back and getting my stats back to where they were before I lost motivation. Not only have I managed to do that, but I've also actually doubled them. I've gained more followers on Twitter and Instagram too, but I will write that in another post in the next few days.

I've never had amazingly high page views, and it's something I've always wanted to improve on. I sat down and had a think about things. I thought about ways I could try and pick my views up, advertise my blog and possibly gain new readers. It has taken a lot of my time during the evenings and throughout the day. I've cut down my working hours during this week as the girls are on their half-term holiday from school. This is one of the main reason I've been working silly hours during the evenings, but I do try and aim to go to bed at 1 am, only because Freddie wakes up often during the night.

These are my tips on increasing your page views and how I doubled mine;

Share your blog posts on Facebook - I get most of my traffic from Facebook and Twitter. I have used Facebook a lot in the past few months. I have a mix of advertising my blog posts and sharing personal photos {of the kids} and writing a short post about our day and what we've been up to. I have found talking about a post and linking up a blog post really helps.

Share your blog post in relatable groups - If you're a member of groups on Facebook such as parenting support groups and/or for sale groups, share relatble blog posts on them. For example, I share my most popular post; 50 Places to Visit in North Wales, and I have gained a lot of views and readers. Not only has it been great for my blog, it's been fantastic for my Facebook page too. Many local businesses have shared the post and I'm gaining traffic from them also.

Schedule posts - I'm terrible at updating my Twitter. However, when I do get into it, I get a lot of traffic from it. I use Buffer to schedule tweets. I also schedule posts on Facebook too.

Join blogging groups and threads - In all honesty, I haven't used this method for the past few days. But it has worked for me in the past. It's also a great way to gain new readers, followers and finding new blogs to read too.

Re-post more than once - Don't just tweet your post once. Advertise it about 4-5 times during the day. The times I post on social media are roughly; 10am, 1-2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8.30pm, 9.15pm, 10.30pm and 11pm. You could also spread it through the week too.

Re-post your popular blog posts - This is a must do! I find the most popular blog posts are the best ones to advertise if you are looking to increase your views. I don't personally do it just for the views, I do it so my post 'gets out there' too. I do feel a little proud when I've seen how many people have actually read the post.

Remember to tag the brand - If you are working for a brand or written a post about a brand, remember to tag them in your post. The chances are they will share your post and that's a great way to gain traffic.

  1. There are such good tips here, I find that I'm not using twitter to its full potential recently as everytime i go on there it is just full of links, and no one actually having a conversation anymore which makes me a little sad. I love buffer too! It's been a game changer for me. x
