Little Adventure at Penrhyn Castle

I absolutely love the weekends, and the second we wake up on a Monday, I count the days down to a Friday evening. Every weekend goes too fast, and I wish there were one extra day, especially when my partner has to work. He had to work last weekend, and I was gutted. The forecast said the weather was going to be lovely and I was looking forward to some kind of adventure day out. I love going out, having a walk and going places where the kids can just run around and feel free.

Mia was in her Dad's Friday night until Saturday evening. Elliw had gone to her Nain's Saturday morning as her Dad was going to work. So it was just Freddie and me in the morning, and we had a very lazy one too. It was so lovely and chilled out. We didn't come downstairs until around 10am, and we had a late breakfast. I had no idea what to do that day until I messaged my friend to see if she was up to anything. She suggested going to a National Trust site in Bangor called Penrhyn Castle. I went to ask my partners Mam to see if she was ok with Elliw for the day, as there was no extra room in the car. Then all was sorted.

We had such a beautiful day, the weather was gorgeous which made the day even better. Freddie was everywhere, but he loved every single moment. He jumped at the chance of throwing stones into the little ponds, running everywhere and climbing things to make my heart jump. The castle and grounds closed sooner than we thought, so we headed off back to the car around 5pm. Although we only spent a few hours there, we had such a wonderful time.

I've been to a few National Trust properties in the past few years. A few of them were reviews on my blog such as Penrhyn Castle, Plas Newydd and Bodnant Gardens. I have now bought a family membership card and can not wait to go out on our first National Trust adventure with the card. I'm looking forward to being able to visit any National Trust at any time of the year. If you love adventures, beautiful gardens, amazing historical properties and breathtaking views, National Trust membership may be right for you too.
