This is post is in collaboration with Woodland Trust. All words and thoughts are my own.
Every household in Wales will be offered the opportunity to plant their own tree, or have their tree planted on their behalf to help fight climate change. This is a project that the Woodland Trust is doing in partnership with the Welsh Government. This is a great opportunity for us all to get together and help fight climate change.
The first free trees are available to collect before the end of March 2022 at five regional hubs across Wales, including Llanrwst.
The other
option is to wait until November 2022 where there will be thousands of more
trees available to be picked up and planted at 20+ hubs across Wales. Trees can
also be ordered for delivery, or if you don’t have the space to plant yourself,
planted on your behalf.
If you've never planted a tree before, there's no need to worry. The free tree to plant comes with easy instructions to help you plant your tree carefully and correctly. And also to give your tree the best start. By planting the trees, they will grow and lock up carbon, fight the effects of climate change and also support wildlife around us.
Looking
after your own tree is a great way to take part in the new National Forest for
Wales, which aims to create a connected network of woodlands across the country.
Once you’ve
got your tree, snap a picture and share it on social using #MyTreeOurForest.
Pick up your free tree at Llanrwst's hub:
Llanrwst, Golygfa Gwydyr Community Group.
Golygfa Gwydr offices, Plough Street, Llanrwst, LL26 0AG.
Opening times: Monday to Friday during March 10am to 3pm.
Saturdays 12th and 19th of March at 10am and 3pm.
