Sticks, Stones, River and Kids

Me and Elliw went to visit Catriona and Osian to spend the Saturday afternoon with them. When we arrived, Osian was a little shy but it wasn't long until he was his himself with his funny and cheeky ways. Elliw sat down for some lunch. Catriona had made her some pasta with cheese, as that is all she will eat. Yup! I have a fussy eater.
We let them both play, and they played nicely too! Catriona then decided we could go to the park. So off we went. Both Osian and Elliw got super excited once they saw the swings and the slide. I had never been to the park before and it looked like such a beautiful and quiet place with different routes too walk. I was interested in taking one route and then Catriona asked if we wanted to go for a walk down to the river which is about a 5 minute walk. So off we went.
The 5 minute walk contained of picking up sticks. Stopping. Picking up more stick. Chasing. Tickling. Laughter and Elliw wanting a pee! {the joys, right?!} Luckily she ended up having a pee in a corner. The walk did take longer than 5 minutes but it was fun! The weather was just right as it wasn't a flat or straight path.
We finally reached the river. It was beautiful. Perfect for a picnic. It was even better that it was only us there too. Osian and Elliw went straight to pick up some stones to throw into the water. Elliw kept trying to make 'sand' castles out of the small stones. Which was quite amusing. But Catriona helped her too! Catriona and myself even had a little fun throwing stones in but trying to make them jump! {Can anyone do that?!}
After a bit {it was a while actually} we decided to leave as my Dad was on his way too pick me and Elliw up so I could be home on time for Mia. Osian's top and shoes were soaked after he kept getting stones that were already in the river. Was pretty amusing watching him. Elliw's hands were filthy after making sandcastles with the stones.
The walk back also included picking up sticks and running. Except Osian was a little tired walking back so Catriona held him. He also said his own name for the first time!
