The Types Of Parents At School

Taking your child to school for the first time is a big step for parent and child. If you are one of those parents who has just started taking your kids to school or if you're going to be in future then you may realise that sometimes taking your child to school can feel like you're back at school yourself sometimes because of some parents on the school yard. You realise just how many type of parents there are once you start doing school runs.

THE DO WHATEVER MUM...
Those Mums who just allow their child to do whatever. For example; if there is a school play, then that parent doesn't care if her child {who should be watching} runs around all the parents and go near the stage. Yup this actually happened last year in the Christmas play.

THE LOUD MUM
There's always that loud one isn't there. The one who always has to try and get attention by shouting out 'bye' or 'hello' to her children. And no, there is nothing wrong with the child's hearing. But it sure does annoy the hell out of me. Oh, and when everyone can hear everything she talks about.

THE FAKE MUM
Those Mums who just love to pretend they are much better than everyone else.

THE JOLLY ONE
Oh yep! The happy ones, the ones who always say hello to you and maybe even start a conversation some days. These are the ones I like.

THE ONES WHO TALK...
Hmm... Some people surely can talk...and talk... and TALK! Especially on the days when you just want to go home to a peaceful house, or go off to work.

THE SNOBS
I'm sure we all know one of these. The parents who think they are better than everyone else. The ones who try to dress 'posh' and never say hello when they pass. Hmm... They make me laugh.

THE QUIET ONES
I'm probably one of these. I don't like to make a huge fuss when I am in the school yard. I just go to pick up my children and off home I go!

THE COOL DADS
Us mums have to admit that the Dads are a lot more laid back than us. They {most} always say hello or give a smile. Yup. Dads are cool.

THE BOSS MUM
I got one of these in my daughters' school. Annoy the hell out of me. Just because you are a part of the committee does not mean you are the boss or even the headteacher of the school - GOSH!

PYJAMAS MUM
I'm sure we all know a Mum or two who are still in their cosy pyjamas when they take their kids to school, right?

Can you relate to any of these?

  14. You nailed it! I'm a quiet one too - school playground actually send shivers down my spine! Not sure if it's because of horrible playground experiences in own childhood or just that I can't bear all the other types!!!

  16. Fortunately I think I am a Jolly Mum...just a shame that most other mums fall into the other categories. I'd also add the Shameless Mum...drops off in PJs and picks up with a faint whiff of Blossom Hill about her! #justanotherlinky

  19. Hi Beth, the school gates can be such a scary place. I would class myself as a quiet one, saying hello, standing away from the masses, but ready to leave as soon as little one appeared. Luckily I don't have to do it anymore, which is something I am grateful for!

  20. Not gonna lie this is the one part of parenting I'm dreading. It's quite cliquey where I live and I just know I won't feel like I fit in. It might make for good blogging though! Even though I know I will be The Quiet One, no doubt I will get classed as The Snob (this happened at school for me!) just because I am quiet. I'm ready for that though, I got through it at school. I can get through it now. #justanotherlinky

  21. I know these types both from being a parent and being a head teacher! As a parent the type I hate the most is the talker - I only have a few hours in the day to get stuff done and as nice as they are, I don't want to spend half of it talking to a parent I don't really know! #justanotherlinky
