Freddie & Me {Week 3}

POSTPARTUM
HOW I FEEL
I was dreading this third week as it's the week my partner returned to work and I was home alone with 3 kids. Don't get me wrong, I know I have to get used to it but I was just worrying about things going wrong and how was I going to cope. There has been 3 days where I have found it hard, where the girls haven't listened and constantly argued. I was lucky enough for my partners Mum to have the girls one morning and my Nain and Taid took the girls out to the beach on Thursday for a few hours for me.

I feel quite guilty most of the time because I can't do as much with the girls anymore because Freddie is cluster feeding and feeds a lot in the mornings and the evenings. The girls love giving Freddie hugs and kisses but I do have to tell them a lot not to go near him when he is sleeping because he doesn't have long naps in the day - only about once or twice {sometimes}, so when he does sleep I like to get things done.

Other than the girls misbehaving some days, I have been feeling ok. The days just seem to fly by so most of the time I don't even get time to think about most things. The after pains have stopped - thank god. The bleeding has nearly stopped, most days I won't bleed at all but some days I will have a light bleed, which isn't too bad I guess.

BREASTFEEDING
Breastfeeding is really demanding during the mornings and especially the evenings. I can feed anytime from 5pm to 6pm up until 10-11pm, which can be really tiering but I'm not complaining. I am finding breastfeeding painful at times but not as painful or sore in the first few weeks, so I can enjoy the experience a lot more. I love having the snuggles with Freddie as I feed him too, so it's always a bonus.

WEIGHT LOSS
I haven't been 100% on plan but I have really changed my food habits since giving birth which is good, i guess. My partner has also started Slimming world so it's a big help that he doesn't buy junk for the house anymore either.

Week 1: 14lbs off
Week 2: 5.5lbs off
Week 3: 2lbs off

21lbs off so far.

I am really happy that I have lost 21 lbs 0.5oz off so far. I really hope I carry on loosing weight from now on, there will be the odd bad week but I am up for doing my weight loss journey again. I am trying my best to move around more and go out for more walks with the girls and just get out there and move.

FREDDIE GEORGE

SLEEPING
There was one night where he woke up nearly every hour. I still haven't caught up on that sleep very well either and I don't think I will be able to for a very long time again, a good few months. Freddie sleeps quite good for his age I think. He will wake up once or twice during the night which isn't too bad and I shouldn't really complain, especially compared to the first few days.

FREDDIE
Freddie is doing amazingly well. The health visitor was super proud of his weight gain, especially that he is breastfed. he last weight 9lbs 9oz but on Thursday he weighed a healthy 10lbs 2 and a half oz! He is slowly growing out of his newborn clothes. Most newborn clothes are already too small but some still fit but the length is getting too small.

Freddie still loves his cuddles and is doing really well feeding. He loves to use me as a comfort too I have noticed. He will usually settle if I take him out for a walk in the pram. I am really lucky that he will sleep through any kind of noise.

He is growing perfectly.

  1. Oh such gorgeous pictures - you've taken me right back to that newborn times, such precious moments. But I totally know how you feel with the feeling of guilt that you aren't able to be there with your girls, I felt exactly the same. Sounds like you are doing fabulously :-) Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS. Hope you come back again next Sunday xx

  2. Oh he's gorgeous. Sounds like you're doing incredibly well. I was barely moving off the sofa at this stage with my son. Take care of yourself and don't take on too much! #KCACOLS

  3. Oh my goodness, he is such a beautiful little baby!!! I remember how the newborn days would fly, especially during cluster feeding! I cannot imagine having two other children, who are adjusting to a brand new life as well. I only have my one and, at 16 months old, I still feel like I haven't quite caught up on my sleep. You must be permanently sleep deprived by now :P I'm glad to hear you're doing so well, and I think you're doing AWESOME as far as weight loss <3 #KCACOLS
