I'm sure most of us Mums have read many parenting books or articles. Whether it's pregnancy books or parenting books that prepare you for parenthood, but later down the line, we realise no book can actually prepare you for parenthood. I've never read or heard about an honest parenting book. Books/guides that actually tell you how parent life actually is. You know, reality. However, Daddy Day Care is a book that tells us how it is but is also hilarious.
From the first page that I read, I got stuck into it, and with little doodles throughout the book, it made it even more interesting. Daddy Day Care is a very honest comical book that is aimed for new dads and curious mums. Written by Jonathan Tindale, it's very well written, so honest and funny too. It shows parenting from the Dad's side, something I was really interested. Anyone who knows me, know that I was brought up by my Dad and now I'm bringing up my three kids, while my partner is out working. I am definitely going to try and persuade him to read this book so he can have some sort of understanding what it's really like to stay home with your children.
Jonathan Tindale talks about his journey as a stay at home Dad to his little girl, Squeaky (love the nickname!). I especially loved how he wrote down his 'day in the life' as it just goes to show that the time flies by and there's never enough time to do everything you want to do in a day when there are kids around. The book is all about the ups and downs of parenthood, and it honestly is a great book to get stuck into and one that most parents will definitely enjoy reading.
