Family Day Out

Not long ago me and my Dad arranged a last minute day out. We went to a place called Llyn Brennig with my Nain, Taid, Dad and Elliw. I would have loved mia to have been there but she was in her Dads. It was a lovely day out. We don't go out very often all together as a family since we live quite a bit away but we really enjoy the days outs. Next time I will make sure that all of us are there including my brother, his partner and my nephew. It will be such a lovely day.

We were really lucky that the weather was lovely and warm. There were so many people there including children. There was a massive lake and a path to walk around and a few people on their bikes and the others walking. Fantastic family day out. We went to the café for a small bite to eat (I didn't have anything though!)

Elliw really enjoyed herself, she abosloutley loves running around. We took her trike with us and she was very happy sitting on it, and looked so proud of herself - Ha Ha.

Jack Hunter Book Review

I was kindly sent a signed 'Jack Hunter The French Connection' book written by Martin King. This book is the second book in the Jack Hunter series. I was really interested in doing a post about this book as there are so many children now days who prefer game stations than reading books. This book is a great way to get children interested in books and still learn whilst they are reading.
I've not heard of anything like this before, were you can read the book and also go on the app. I think it is a good way to learn the child to read and use a compute/laptop. Whilst they are having fun they are also learning.
This book is aimed at 8-13 year olds. There are many children these days who have no interest in reading books what so ever. This book is aimed to make children enjoy reading more.

I would really recommend this book to any parent if they would like their children to be more interested in reading. I have given the book my friend's son and there will soon be an extra bit to this review on what he thought about the book! I will keep you all updated.

Otherwise, take a look on Jack Hunters website which you can view here.

Quorn Review

As you know I am a Slimming World member and I've nearly lost 3 stone now. I love to try out new different foods and that is one thing I have done since loosing weight, I've tried so many different foods and cooked foods differently. I recently got asked if I would review some Quorn products, I just had to say yes! I had tried the sausages and burgers last year, and I loved them but I had never bought any of the other quorn products so I was very interested in trying others out. I got sent 3 vouchers for 3 different products. There wasn't much choice in the store we went too but I was glad I chose what I got.

Quorn Mince. I chose this because I love mince, so I thought I'd try this one out. It did taste a little different. I felt the texture was softer than the real mince. But it was still very tasty. Plus it was free with my slimming world plan. The girls had this with me too, and they really enjoyed it. I bought a chilled pack. Which was very easy to cook.

This Quorn Cottage Pie was my favourite. It tasted just like a normal cottage pie. I will deffinteley be buying this again. I do miss microwave food if i'm honest. Something I can just stick in the microwave for 2 minutes. This was a chilled product and you could cook it in the microwave or the oven. The girls really enjoyed this too! I think more veg in the mince would have been nicer but I just added extra on the sides.

This Peppered Steak was not exactly how I thought it would be. The girls loved it, however it was a little too hot. But it was nice with some salad, something to cool it down a bit. I couldn't eat it by itself. The texture wasn't like a real steak, it was more like a burger but stiffer. Yet again, this was cooked in a microwave!

Reviewing these products has made me think that I should buy Quorn products more often. However, I do find them quite expensive for what they are. I will buy them once in a while or when they are on good offers. Out of the 3 products I have tried I will most definitely buy the cottage pie one again it was a big hit with me and the girls. While eating their foods you wouldn't really think that it isn't real meat. It also goes great with my diet plan!

Check out their other foods over at their website here

Elliw Elen 27 Months Update

I can't believe my littlest baby girl is 27 months old! It just feels like yesterday I went into hospital to be told I was getting induced! These past few weeks Elliw has really changed. She's a right character now and her very own personality. She can have a right temper and a half on her though! Can definitely say she's copied her big sister with the tempers.

A couple of weeks ago, the sun was shinning so I let Elliw walk all the way too school with me to pick Mia up. Luckily we got there just on time as the kids were coming out because there was no way Elliw would stand still for me, and that is the reason why I put her in the pram usually! On Fridays Elliw has been going to Cylch Meithrin, which is in a cabin next to Mia's school. It's like a nursery but you go straight up to school after it. I am so glad she goes there, she's learnt so much since being there. One big thing ive noticed with Elliw is her speech. A lot of people would talk to her and probably wonder why she wasn't answering them like any other child her age would do. But now Elliw's speech is starting to get much better - so proud of her.

Elliw loves going out places and going on an adventure! She will try anything, she's such a daring little girl.

  • Elliw tries to sing 'Mi Welais Jack Y Do' which is a welsh song.
  • She knows how to say, Mama, Dada, Mammy, Mam, Daddy, Dad, Nain, Taid, Myra, Will, No, Mine, Cbeebies, Pig, Banana, Please, Bye-bye, Ta-ta, Hello, Thank you, Poo, Mai (for Mia).
  • Up to now she is a lefty!
  • She loves watching Peppa Pig, Frozen, I Can Cook and In The Night Garden.
  • Her favourite song is 'Martin Garrix - Animals'
  • She loves doing things she isn't supposed to do.
  • Her favourite word is 'No' and 'Mine'
One thing I have noticed with Elliw is she is a proper mammys, daddys, nainys and taidys girl! She hasn't got a favourite. But she does love the cuddles off me since she comes to have cuddles all day nearly! She loves walking everywhere, but I put her in pram most of the time as if we stand still she will run off as she hasn't understood yet that if we need to cross the road, we have to wait at the side of the road first! Ha ha.

Until Next Time...
Love You Elliw
