MUMS TIME

I understand that being a parent is a 24/7 job, but I do believe that every parent is entitled to a break. I mean a break with no kids. When the kids are in bed you still listen out for them, hoping they won't wake up and checking up on them now and then but when they are with a babysitter you can relax a bit more. Even though you will still probably phone or send a text and put your phone on loud just in case you get a call but you can enjoy yourself and relax more when they are with somebody else.

I think I would probably be insane by now if i never had a break. I like doing all kinds of different things when I don't have the kids with us. I used to really enjoy going out for a drink but recently I've not really wanted to go out for a drink. Not very often will Elliw go to someone's house to sleep over. The last time she went was in October but she will be going again soon. Mia goes to her Dad's house every weekend for one night so that is a little break for me. I am in every single Saturday night because my partner goes out to work. I really love my evenings. I suddenly become a 'monster mum' if the kids don't settle at night ha ha!

INVITE A FRIEND OVER
I've only recently started doing this. Even when the kids are sleeping and when my partner is out working, I invite a friend over and we have a cup of tea and just watch TV. It's a really nice chilled out evening.

BINGO ONLINE
If you feel you want to keep yourself occupied whilst the kids are sleeping or if they are having a sleep over you could play a bit of online Bingo and slot games here. Bingo isn't just for 'old people' (like what i thought ages ago). I recently started playing Bingo and i really enjoy it. It keeps my mind off a lot of things and it's a bonus that you get free £10 to start playing! How cool is that?

GO OUT
There are many things you can do when you go out. Going out for a drink, play bowling, go to the cinema and much more. I think it's a really good idea to let your hair down once in a while and just be yourself.

CHILL OUT
Sometimes it's nice just to relax in your own home and go to bed early. Just having time to yourself, relax your head and not having any responsibility for the night. No changing nappies, not bedtime stories and not even a wake up call in the middle of night! Oh and don't forget the wake up call really early in the morning! Sometimes when it's your time, you just want to catch up on some sleep and be lazy!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

  2. Oh I love this! I really appreciate when I get 'me time'. It doesn't happened very often as hubby is away a lot with work and we don't have family nearby. I do got out for dinner with my friend once a month and we try and arrange a girly night out once every couple of months. I also enjoy the times I get out to the gym. I can really escape from everything and almost take it out on the treadmill! :) x
