SIBLINGS {FEBRUARY}

Last month went way too fast for me, and I totally missed the Siblings post and the Me and Mine post. One thing I promised myself at the beginning of the year, was to take more photos of the girls and of all three kids together. With both girls being at school every weekday and Mia being at her Dad's at the weekend, the only time I can manage to get a photo of all three together is after school or every other Sunday when Mia's not at her Dad's. It was Freddie's Christening at the beginning of the month, and I jumped at the chance of capturing some photos of all three together and separately. I have fallen in love with the pictures, and I want to blow them up onto a canvas soon.

As always there have been good and bad days but the good days always shadow the bad days. When I look back, I can't remember the feeling of being mad or wound up. I do remember those good days and memories, though. My partner and I have both been trying to learn the girls that they need to start tidying up after themselves. For the past few months, we've realised they've gotten worse and worse with making a mess. They will both literally drop something on the floor where they are standing if they don't want it. Even if the box is right next to them. I don't want them to be in a lazy habit. We both know it's probably normal for kids not to tidy but we have spoken with each other and have decided they are both at the age where they should start appreciating their things a bit more than they do. I'm going to make a little chore chart soon, I'm not going to do a boring one, I want it to be fun for them, so it motivates them to carry on, but also learns them too.

Last summer I couldn't do many things with them because Freddie was born the day after school broke up. I was lucky that my partner was able to take two weeks paternity leave and he took the girls out a few times in those couple of weeks. Otherwise, the girls were just at home with me. We went out for a few walks, but not much. We either stayed at home, or the girls were out playing in the back garden. I still feel guilty to this day. However, I plan to do a lot more things with them this summer, and with Freddie turning one year old in July, he's going to be reaching many new milestones by then. It's quite exciting to think of the things we could get up too, I've got a few things on my mind ready.

Both girls have been fantastic with Freddie this month. When Mia is around, I feel like I get more help and a little bit of a break because she will more than happily sit with Freddie and entertain him. Elliw is quite heavy-handed, and it's quite hard to explain to her why she isn't allowed to shake his head, be right up in his face or bouncing him so hard in the chair (yes she does these things!) but other than them, she is lovely with him. Freddie looks up to both girls, so much. He always has a smile on his face when he sees them and hears their voices.

  1. Aw what a beautiful little family you have and so lovely that they have a bond. I find siblings go either way for me, either they play well and have fun and my son is super helpful with the baby or they're at war - ha!! Beautiful pics btw. Yvadney x #DreamTeam

  6. Aww what beautiful photos of your little ones. They are so gorgeous and you have reminded me that we don't really have many photos of us altogether. That's something for the to-do-list. Thank you for sharing with the #DreamTeam xx
