FREDDIE'S 15 MONTH UPDATE

Being honest now, I had to look back at Freddie's previous update to remind myself how old he is. I thought he was 16 months- oops. But still, how on earth is my littlest baby 15 months old already? Yet again, he's learnt so many things in the past month, and although he can be such a handful, he is such a cuddly precious little boy. He started nursery last month, and it was a massive decision for me to accept that he needed to go once a week, for his and my own sake. It was more to do that I needed at least one full day to do my own work. Even though I work from home, it's hard to do work when I've only got 1-2 hours, sometimes 3 hours a day. I can't function to write properly during the most evening, to why I always try and get the writing done during the day. I will write more about his time at nursery in this post and will do a small update in these monthly updates.

SLEEP
Compared to how he used to sleep a couple of months back, he really has improved- a lot. He has had 1-2 weeks of waking up 2-3 times each night, and it's been hard, but I think he was teething. He's also been suffering from a lot of nappy rashes which hasn't helped either. In the past week he's a couple of full night sleep, the others he has woken up 1-2 times a night. When he does wake up in the middle of the night, it can take anything between 30 minutes to an hour to settle (sometimes longer).

He settles to sleep quite well at bedtime. He will go down anytime between 7pm and 7.30pm. He will be fed some milk from a beaker and falls asleep in our arms, then we will put him down. It can take anything from 10 minutes to an hour. But I'm really happy with how he settles. There's only be a few evenings where he has woken up before midnight, but most of the time he will just sleep through.

Nap times are still going. He has now stopped breastfeeding, so he doesn't have a feed before his nap. He will still have his banana and yoghurt snack before nap time and some cuddles as he falls to sleep before I put him in his pram. He will sleep for anything between 2-3 hours. It's still the one nap, and he won't sleep again for the rest of the day until bedtime.

SIZE AND DEVELOPMENT
The Health Visitor still hasn't come to visit Freddie which I'm really disappointed with. He hasn't even had his 12 month update. I did put him on my scales the other day, and it said he was 2stone 2lbs which I thought was super cute. I'm not worried about his weight or height. I know he's lost a bit weight, but it was expected because of how much he walks and moves about nowadays. He's still currently in 12-18 months and fitting some 18-24 months clothing.

Again, he has learnt so many new things this month. A couple of months ago he learnt to wave when we said 'bye', but it's only recently he's started to wave when we say 'hello' or 'haia'. It's so adorable. He is trying his best to jump up and down and has started to dance too. He's also babbling a lot, he says the words Mam and Dad a lot too.

FOOD AND BREASTFEEDING
This will be the last time I talk about breastfeeding in his updates which makes me feel quite sad, but I am happy that he weaned himself off when he was ready. I wasn't fully ready, but I was close. Food wise, he is brilliant at eating and will try most things. His favourite foods are bananas, yoghurts, bolognese and pasta.

NURSERY
A few weeks back Freddie started nursery and it was a really hard decision to make. But it has been one of the best decisions too. Each week has been hard but it has gotten easier as each week passes. I still feel really guilty when he leaves the house on a Thursday morning, as his Dad takes him to nursery before he goes to work but I get a good full day of work and manage to do a lot of things. He does cry when he gets dropped off but he does get better. He hasn't had a good normal nap there since he started, but it does mean he goes down to sleep pretty well back at home and sleeps for an extra longer nap the following day. I do love how he comes home with some drawings too.

MEMORIES - THINGS TO REMEMBER
- When we take the girls to school we pass two lollipop ladies and every single morning and afternoon, he will wave madly at the both of them when we cross the road with them. He's also full of smiles when he does it. It's super cute.

- He loves to jump and is getting better at it each day.

- He absolutely adores the outdoors and would be out all weathers, all day if he could. I do find he gets miserable quickly when he's indoors but the minute he's outdoors, he's so happy.

- He loves animals, especially dogs. We went for a walk one day along the beach front, and he stroked a dog. He's not scared at all. The only time he jumped a little and was shocked was when the dog licked him.

- When I get the hoover out, without fail, he will point to the plug socket so I can put the plug in, he will then help me push the hoover around and once the hoover has finished he will take the plug out for me and show me where to keep the hoover. He absolutely adores the hoover, and has done for months.

- He now knows who is who and if we ask him to pass something to someone he usually gives it to the right person.

- Still loves his morning cuddles.

- Absolutely loves to climb the sofas and jump on them. He is so daring and even hangs on the side as he knows he will get a reaction from me.

- He knows how to work the washing machine which is adorable to watch. He will get the washing powder cup out, open the tray, put in, push tray back in and switch the washing machine on. He also loves to load a wash in.

  1. I do think the health visitor comes round less and less. It seemed like after my daughter was one the next thing was her 27 month check?! Love that he likes the great outdoors x
