Pregnancy and Blogging

When I found out I was pregnant I had a huge list of what I wanted to write through out my pregnancy. In my first and second pregnancies I never wrote down how I felt each week or anything else, so I really wanted to do something different this time. I do write my weekly pregnancy updates which I am glad I have stuck to since I was 12 weeks pregnant. I have written a few other pregnancy posts too such as my wishlists, how I found out I was pregnant, how I feel about being pregnant, how my girls reacted that they were going to be big sisters, a few posts about the scans such as my gender reveal and so on. But as the weeks or even months are going by this pregnancy is getting more and more uncomfortable, which is making it hard to keep on top of my blog.
If you are a regular reader you may have noticed the past two or so weeks my blog has changed a little. I always liked to update my blog daily and have atleast one or two new posts a day. My last post before this was written 3 days ago, which is not like me at all. I have four reasons for this:
• I am too uncomfortable to sit and write
• I am too tired to think of anything new to write
• When I get time to blog I just feel exhausted
• I have old posts written up in drafts but then I need to take new photos!
You may be thinking with #3 what do I mean when I get time to blog? As I have done it before and always kept on top of it. However, with this pregnancy I am having to do two visits to hospital a week to keep an eye on the baby because of Obstetric Cholestasis condition I have. It is around a 30 minute journey there and back. I try my best to catch up on blog work around those appointments but when you have two children to keep happy, school runs, a house to tidy and clean it can be quite hard and by the end of the night you just feel exhausted.
I feel that I had a lot to write about in the first trimester and a bit through the first half of the second trimester. But the second half of the second trimester I found quite difficult. I just didn't know what to write about. I have got a few posts planned for the next coming weeks and they also include some exciting reviews too. I can't wait to share them all with you.
Can any other pregnancy bloggers relate?

Congratulations on your pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteCan't relate on pregnancy blogging but I can understand it must be hard when your not feeling that great. Hopefully you'll be able to get the things you need done and get the enjoyment for it back when you aren't feeling so uncomfortable! X
ReplyDeleteGive yourself a break! I'm not sure how you found the time to do two post a day anyway! I struggle with one a week sometimes. I didn't blog while pregnant but I did work, you have to slow down and not stress about it. Chill!! xx
ReplyDeleteWhen I was pregnant with Blake I struggled to want write especially in the last trimester I remember being uncomfortable and tired all the time. Don't beat urself up about it when it comes to blogging just blog when u can its important to take care of urself.
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't put so much pressure on yourself and blog when you can, you're bringing a new life into the world and your blog will still be here once life settles down a bit and you've had plenty of rest xx
ReplyDeleteI can't relate on the pregnancy blogging, but I know how you feel with regards to being exhausted and having no new ideas. I'm a full time PhD student and I have two kids and a man who doesn't like housework lol
ReplyDeleteI totally relate. I am sick so often and try to fit my blogging around being ill and feeling exhausted and its really hard. I just give up everything else to do it but i hope it will be worth it in the end. I understand exactly what you mean and i had cholostasis in pregnancy too its not fun! Keep going at your own pace!
ReplyDeleteI could hardly blog when I was pregnant. I just blogged when I could. Take it easy x
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to write when you are tired but good that you wrote some posts in advance.
ReplyDeleteDon't put pressure on yourself, but it can be hard to do if you make an income from it. You deserve a maternity leave, though x
ReplyDeleteYou need to make sure you don't put too much pressure on yourself. You have done so well so far and it's been so interesting to read about how your pregnancy is going. Not long now so enjoy it x
ReplyDeleteI can't relate on pregnant blogging I'm afraid but it sounds like it can be a hard time all around. x
ReplyDeleteI'm 32 weeks pregnant and only just started my blog. Even I am finding it difficult and I only have one toddler (and hubby if he counts haha). I have no idea how your coping with two as well as everything else that's going on. You're super mum! Good luck with everything xx
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how hard it can be, but please don't put pressure on yourself x
ReplyDeleteDon't be so harsh on yourself lovely! Pregnancy does take its toll and blogging is a lot of hard work, taking a little down time is necessary x
ReplyDeleteyou know what, you're creating a life! thats hard work <3 so don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sure all your readers will understand :) x
ReplyDeleteI think you have done great with your blogging whilst being pregnant, I know I would not have been able to blog when I was pregnant or it would have been the odd post here and there x
ReplyDeleteI am not and have not been pregnant but I can relate. Since December I was posting Mon-Friday every week without fail and by April my workload had increased as I started working more jobs outside of blogging and it is tough, I can write the posts up no problem but promoting/ completing threads when you work so much is tough. I hope you are ok? x
ReplyDeleteI'm not pregnant but I can see what you mean! I feel like I have bits of posts scattered everywhere, but can't seem to get them all together to actually get a post out!

I struggle to keep up and I'm not even pregnant. Try not to be so hard on yourself lovely. xo
ReplyDeleteI don't think there is a woman in the world who doesn't feel this way when pregnant.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel, although I'm not pregnant, but have other things that I have to deal with alongside blogging, its so tough isnt it. I've learnt this year to let go a little and not stress so much xxx
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm surprised you can blog even once a fortnight with everything else you have going on! Supermum indeed!!
ReplyDeleteI had my sons before blogging really took off, but I can totally relate to this! I think by the third trimester of my pregnancies I was feeling so fed up that any blog posts would not have been good to read ;-)
ReplyDeleteBeing pregnant is tiring. I'm not even pregnant and find blogging completely exhausting sometimes. I've started to write a list every time I think of a topic or post I want to write. Then I go back to it whenever I find some time.
